Our Team

Six registered therapists,
one shared mission

Every RMT at The Lighthouse was hand-selected by Sheldon and Jenn — and each one was either taught or mentored by them directly. We built this team around people we trust with our own bodies.

SS
Sheldon Smythe
RMT · Founder — 9 Years in Practice

Sheldon founded The Lighthouse in Apsley, Ontario in 2023, running the clinic solo for three years before bringing it home to the Durham Region. Now in his ninth year as a Registered Massage Therapist, Sheldon works with professional and amateur athletes, first responders, and anyone managing chronic pain or working to correct their posture. His background spans high-level sports, yoga instruction, motor vehicle accident care, and oncology massage. Sheldon sees the body through the lens of kinesiology — making him especially effective at identifying the root cause of chronic injury, postural imbalance, and performance limitations. Beyond hands-on treatment, he is a massage therapy instructor at The Royal Canadian College of Massage Therapy, helping shape the next generation of RMTs.
